Here are some more of the advertising we recently did for K-Swiss. They made a total of 24 ads from 2 days of shooting around Venice and the Standard Hotel (the nightlife stuff has yet to be released) and it seemed like an overkill to put them all in our “Advertising” section, but here’s some more we are pretty stoked on.

Last month we shot an ad campaign for K-Swiss celebrating the company’s history in California culture with Adam & Co. that are floating around already. They made about 30 ads from the 2 days, more soon when that new website goes up. Click here to read more »
A couple of weeks ago we shot an ad campaign for Incase and they decided to turn the cameras on us. So look out for some ads featuring Jeremy and Eli (shot by Claire) out there along with the others. Above is a video of us they made to coincide with it all. You can see more photos we shot (together) and videos of the other new faces of Incase on their site. Not a bad group (P. Rod, Evan Hecox, Parra, Oh No, Ron Radziner) to be in.
That slide I do at the end actually hurt pretty bad, and pay no attention to that butt crack shot please.
We’ll be posting the actual ads soon, so stay tuned.
An ad we shot for Motorola with Anomaly is on the back of this week’s LA Weekly! We knew they were running because we already saw them in some other mags, but for some reason it just looks so rad on the back of LA’s free newspaper. It was a great (but super last minute) shoot that came together in less than a week. Anomaly asked if we could pull off a show at a club where basically the crowd is super excited but it needs to look as crowded and of course, as real as possible. So we put out the word to friends on the Facebook, the Day19Twitter, sent out about 200 text messages and it all came together brilliantly. It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our friends coming out, our fantastic agents for going above and beyond what any other agent would do, Jim for letting us use The Smelland without the good folks at Anomaly and Motorola believing we could pull off what we promised we could (with 2 days notice). Everyone was super stoked with the outcome, a bunch of people came out and got to stage dive for maybe their first and/or last time, and our good buddy Mickey is now in ads running all over the world! Yes, THIS Mickey.
Some ads we did for Quiksilver along with their Spring 2010 catalog. Shot a ton of film and Polaroid on that one and it looks great how they used it all together to make the catalog. More after the jump. Click here to read more »
Here’s a shot from the Canada Goose shoot we did last December. The agency behind the shoot, Soldier Design put some of the photos as a preview up on their blog. It’s always great working with those folks.
Also, there’s a bunch of the work we did with Levi’s on their site as well.
This ad is running right now of a Slayer fan we shot in SLC, Utah. If you try to talk to a Slayer fan on a day of a Slayer show you will get a one word answer yelled back at you know matter what question you ask… “SLAYER!!!!”.
We just stumbled upon this new ad we shot for the Converse fall campaign and it really got us thinking about how lucky we are to have the clients we have. It’s sometimes hard to sell someone on the way we shoot because a lot of the great photographs can’t be planned ahead of time so there needs to be a lot of trust in letting the process happen and being able to completely switch things up at the drop of a hat. I feel like most great photos come from letting the ideas go and just becoming part of what’s going on, immersing yourself in the action not just standing back and watching what’s happening. The photo above was completely spontaneous and one of maybe 6 frames shot. We had a whole shoot going on inside and just said “hey, lets see how it looks from outside”, moved everyone closer to the window so you could make out their shapes easier and bam…an ad in Rolling Stone. I love our job.
2 New Converse ads are on the magazine stands right now. The first one has been spotted in Rolling Stone and the second in Nylon. Let us know if you see them. We’re loving the Fall ’09 all black with small image Converse is doing right now.
It’s been a great week. Eli’s been hanging out in the parks of NYC, we’ve been seeing photos of billboards we shot for Smirnoff popping up all over the world, we may be traveling to the other side of the world next week, our assistant is running topless in Levi’s ads all over NY, there was a surprise birthday party for me in BKLYN, another rooftop jam in the BK, we’ve reunited with so many great east coast friends, AND we’re going to the Sussex County Fair Friday! Let’s keep this going.
