Just watched the new OK GO video and we’re proud of the dudes. They never cease to amaze us when it comes to pulling off their ideas. I’m glad they call us when they need pictures done. “Can we get a mini horse? Of course” Above photo is from the last press shoot we did with them, below is their new video. Enjoy.
We shot jazz musician Wadada Leo Smith for a feature in The Wire a little while back and it just popped up on newsstands. There are some great photos of him inside so pick up a copy.
Here’s a shot from the Canada Goose shoot we did last December. The agency behind the shoot, Soldier Design put some of the photos as a preview up on their blog. It’s always great working with those folks.
Also, there’s a bunch of the work we did with Levi’s on their site as well.
December 1st found us traveling to Banff, Canada to shoot an advertising campaign for Canada Goose. A great company making the warmest jackets in the world for the people of the great white north in traditional fashion. We stayed in one of the most beautiful (and most haunted) hotels I have ever seen. Great shoot, great people, and freezing cold weather. Click here to read more »
We have a photo in the new issue of Rolling Stone of Rivers Cuomo in Santa Monica. They also posted a bunch of outtakes on their website here. We posted one we’re pretty psyched on after the jump.
Last month we worked w/ Capitol and OK GO on photographs for their upcoming album and press pics. It was the second time working with these guys and once again it was a blast. Impeccably styled by Christopher Kreiling.
After a conversation yesterday about photo websites I enjoy visiting regularly I couldn’t think of any other than Emily’s and Farley’s so I came home to look at my “blogs” bookmarks… (I’m too lazy to RSS feed anything, i barely know what that means). The websites/blogs I visit regularly for the one or two of you out there who might care after the jump…
We just stumbled upon this new ad we shot for the Converse fall campaign and it really got us thinking about how lucky we are to have the clients we have. It’s sometimes hard to sell someone on the way we shoot because a lot of the great photographs can’t be planned ahead of time so there needs to be a lot of trust in letting the process happen and being able to completely switch things up at the drop of a hat. I feel like most great photos come from letting the ideas go and just becoming part of what’s going on, immersing yourself in the action not just standing back and watching what’s happening. The photo above was completely spontaneous and one of maybe 6 frames shot. We had a whole shoot going on inside and just said “hey, lets see how it looks from outside”, moved everyone closer to the window so you could make out their shapes easier and bam…an ad in Rolling Stone. I love our job.
Last month we got a quick job shooting a new band called The Young Veinswhile they recorded in a studio up in Laurel Canyon. Apparently they were in a band called Panic at the Disco and left to start their own thing. Nice kids, we wish them well. Here are some photo floating around the world we did of them. Thanks dudes.
2 New Converse ads are on the magazine stands right now. The first one has been spotted in Rolling Stone and the second in Nylon. Let us know if you see them. We’re loving the Fall ’09 all black with small image Converse is doing right now.
