I mastered the dance, but now you’re gone.

Ok, so this is the beginning of the post I’ve promised about Piebald and their last shows. I want to start by saying we are so happy that we were able to make it out to Boston for the final shows ever, we said no matter what we were going to be there and it happened. We have known these guys for I guess about 10 years now and consider them not only some of our best friends but family, Travis even played “Here Comes the Bride” at our wedding! It was hard to be there and believe we may never see them play as a group ever again and it was hard to even edit these photos because I didn’t want to believe it was over. We have a ton of photographs of these guys from years past and are gonna post as many as we can here for the next week or so, so keep checking back. And if you are interested in prints of anything let us know, we would love for people to decorate their walls with some Piebald. Lots of photos after the jump. I hope we did justice of how amazing the last shows were.

Let’s start with this old photo taken somewhere in America of Andy and Ryan. An example of the old photos we’ll be posting all week, or next 2 weeks. Who knows?

There were 2 sold out nights at the Middle East in Cambridge. We stayed with my little brother Blake while we were there so don’t get confused with the photos in between the nights.

Matt Galle! It was like a Boston reunion.

Holy shit, how amazing was Karaoke Ryan opening up!?! Incredible.

Breakfast the next morning at some place by M.I.T. that made me think we were going to a Science Museum not a food establishment.

Claire at the end of our old block, Westland Ave.

We actually got approached to get our portrait taken by a student at our old school who had no idea we were going to be in town.

Blake and I do running high fives pretty much everywhere we go. Check out that vertical leap, Go Lakers!

Night two, Travis and Claire pre-show stretches.

Really? Ryan and I had to wear the same shirt? Thanks Isac.

Suzy made the trip from Los Angeles as well.

I have to say night 2 was way more exciting and bittersweet just because you knew there was an ending point in sight.

Lucian.

Mike not Gas.

Liz has a crazy metal tongue.
This is my favorite photo of the night taken about 2 seconds after walking off the stage as Piebald for maybe the last time ever. We love you guys.

epic indeed.
super jazzed y’all got to be there for such a momentous occasion.
Can honestly say their tunes changed my life. Thanks for this.
that last picture gave me goose bumps. wish i was there.
this post spawned a conversation with my friend about the time we saw piebald in the middle of nowhere in a tiny club outside london (kingston, to be exact) during the spring of ’03 (a one-off show, i forget who they were touring with)… and how neither of us had a cent to spare, and had to borrow 20 pounds to take the bus back to the city, but how it was totally epic and worth it.
karaoke ryan has been spotted here in brooklyn at trash bar karaoke. i’m sad i missed all of this!
funny story, the only person you can see in the picture where travis is playing the piano (shot from behind) is me.
I went to both shows at the Middle East. Your pictures are really good they really show the excitment of the last two shows. Those were two of the best days of my life.

This was the best night of my life.
My goodness. This was beautiful. I was actually at both Boston shows (You caught me in a couple photos, lol) and they were incredible. I’m gonna miss Piebald SO MUCH! Its still hard for me to listen to them now, it makes me want to cry knowing I wont see them together again… But anyway, amazing job on the photos, it really captured the wide range of emotions at the last shows.
Also, check out my YouTube account. I have a few low-quality taken-with-a-crappy-cell-phone-camera videos from both the last shows and a show they did with The Format last year.
