| 4x5 Polaroid Project
In 2004 we started this project with a box of 4"x5" Polaroid our friend Dan Monick gifted us. We hadn't used our view camera since college but we set out to shoot some very straighforward portraits with it. The idea was to make a collection of "people doing cool shit" basically. More like shooting a selection of baseball cards of the people in our life than anything else.
We would reach out to people who we wanted to meet and simply ask if we could come take their portrait and surprisingly most said yes! Claire and Jeremy would each shoot one shot and choose which they liked best after. That was it, two shots per subject!
The inconsitencies of the film really shined through which is one part of what we loved about the project, but also this is a great collection of our time in Los Angeles in the late 2000s. in 2007, after about 200 portraits, The Polaroid Company ceased production of the film and that was that.
